Stage II Beginners: Course Content:- Colour Mixing

Learn:-

• how to mix 100+ Colours from just 6 primaries
• how to darken colours without using black.
• colour influence, high/low-key & reflected colour,
• how to apply mixed colour washes, wet into wet & when to use such washes.
• Perspective

2. It is also suitable for complete beginners wishing to learn to paint with watercolour: or those wishing to learn more about colour mixing and thereby improve their existing abilities.

Essential Primary Colours:-

Warm:

A Violet Blue:- French Ultramarine Blue:

An Orange Red:- Cadmium Red, Vermilion, Permanent Red

An Orange Yellow:- Cadmium Yellow, New Gamboge, medium Yellow

A Green Blue:- Prussian Winsor, or Cerulean,

A Violet Red:- Alizarin Crimson, Madder Lake, Quinacridone Rose

Green Yellow:- Lemon Yellow, Cadmium Yellow

Others:

Yellow Ochre or Raw Sienna

Additional useful Colours but not essential to this course:-

Burnt Sienna, Raw Umber, Burnt Umber, Cobalt Blue, Light Red, Rose Madder

Each supplier will have colours to suite my suggested list although they may go under different names!

All makes can be inter changeable although one make of paint can look alarmingly different in colour to another.

They can be artist quality or student quality.
